FMS is proud to announce that major Gavin Yao's animated short film, Encounters, has been selected from a group of 700 submissions to show at the upcoming Yale Student Film Festival, April. 18th through 23rd, 2022. The YSFF is a student-run short film festival, providing the opportunity for university-level filmmakers, from Yale and from around the world, to exhibit their work.

Former FMS student Adam Cohen ('15) has produced a new web series entitled Shifter

Adam Cohen ('15) took FMS 220: Introduction to Film and FMS 432: Global Art Cinema in his sophomore year, and graduated from WashU in May 2015. Since then, he has worked in commercial, TV, and virtual reality production, as a coordinator, first assistant director, and production manager. He has also written and directed his own work, and produced such projects as the new Shifter series. He hopes that the WashU film community will enjoy some of the work he's been up to lately, because he learned so much from others' work in FMS classes and through collaborations on the Danforth campus.

Twice yearly the Office of Undergraduate Research sponsors the Undergraduate Research Symposium. It is a forum for students to present their research findings and a celebration of the diversity of research that takes place at WashU. The event has included a keynote address, selected student talks, a poster session, and performances and demonstrations of projects.
