FMS is proud to announce that major Gavin Yao's animated short film, Encounters, has been selected from a group of 700 submissions to show at the upcoming Yale Student Film Festival, April. 18th through 23rd, 2022. The YSFF is a student-run short film festival, providing the opportunity for university-level filmmakers, from Yale and from around the world, to exhibit their work.
According to Yao, Encounters is an effort to understand the question, what if crawling is the majority's way of walking? Or vice versa? This short work is an effort to understand, through movement and rhythm, the nature of human assumptions, perceptions, and relations.
