Campus Movie Fest

Campus Movie Fest (CMF) is finally coming to Washington University for the first time on its 17th annual world tour! The 2016-2017 tour includes 50 campuses across the United States, and this year it’s bigger and better than ever - thanks in large part to our new presenting partner, Seeker!

Get ready for movie-making magic on your campus! Here’s the run down on events:

Launch: September 7th

Collection: September 13th

Judging: September 14th

Finale: September 16th

During that time, students will have one week to make the best possible five-minute film. The CMF Tour provides training, support, and of course, amazing equipment -- including a laptop loaded with Adobe Creative Cloud, a Panasonic LUMIX HD camera, and crystal clear sound gear. Did I mention it’s all free? More than one million students have participated in CMF since it began in 2001.

The 2016-2017 CMF Tour, will award more than $100,000 in cash and prizes! Students can win $10,000 in cash prizes from the brand-new Seeker category, Seeker Stories, $10,000 in cash grants from the Elfenworks Social Justice category, the chance to see their film shown in-flight on Virgin America, or even be invited to attend and screen their movie at the Cannes International Film Festival!

The top 4 movies at WashU will be announced at WashU’s red-carpet finale on September 16th at 7pm. These Jury Award winners will receive a one-year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud (a $600 value!) and will move on to compete nationally at the CMF Grand Finale at TERMINUS! Silver Tripod Awards will be given in many different categories, including directing, editing, and acting, to celebrate the achievements of Washu’s most outstanding filmmakers. "

And there you have it. If you need anything else, please let me know and I'll will try to get it to you asap.
